Abstract

This article examines the social attitudes of people living in Rostov province during the 2016 crisis, based on analyzing their social-psychological health, their expectations and evaluations; described are their main adaptation practices, while the gender aspect and regional specifics of the manifestations of said social attitudes and adaptation practices are established. The results are analyzed based upon characteristics highlighted in the study’s methodology, indicated are the main specifics of the region’s socio-economic situation, reflected is the dynamic of regional inhabitants’ views when it comes to those spheres of everyday reality which are of vital importance. The main points of the article are based on material from a sociological study conducted in Rostov province in 2016 by the South-Russian subsidiary of the IS RAS within the framework of a scientific project called “Everyday reality during crisis”, carried out by the institute with backing from the Russian scientific foundation. The study was conducted based upon a method developed by IS RAS scientists, and across an array of thematic clusters the results are cited in comparison to all-Russian data.
