Abstract

The author, relying on the latest research of administrative culture in corporations, analyzes the specifics of companies operating in the territory of the South Russian region; it is concluded that Russia has not yet developed a sustainable model of managerial culture. Transformation of managerial culture occurs as a result of the action of a complex system of social and historical determinations. Moreover, it takes place in a specific social space, which is a supra-individual reality, has a multidimensional structured construction, the elements of which are mutually influenced and related. There are several stages in the transformation of managerial culture: radical changes associated with institutional transformations of society; stabilization of the sphere of administrative culture and labor relations in the commercial sector; the complication of managerial culture, the introduction and adaptation of various models and approaches to management. The Russian specificity of the transformation of managerial culture is that there were no established models of managerial relations in the commercial sector in Russia. Therefore, despite the presence of certain stereotypes of attitudes toward work in general, the hierarchy of power, etc., it became possible to perceive strategies brought from countries with a European (Anglo-Saxon) governance model, but not from Asian countries where governance is based on stable national traditions. National stereotypes could not resist the influence of new life strategies, which made it possible to introduce new management principles. The mechanisms of social adaptation proved to be stronger than the conservative tendencies of preserving the existing stereotypes and behavioral patterns. This process was strengthened by the tendencies of perception through the media and mass culture of the values of Western society, focused on individualism, personal success, personal effectiveness, but at the same time requiring a certain labor discipline and order. There is a noticeable need for expanding personal initiative, which is in contradiction with the main dominant of the national behavior of Russians, prone to rigid and authoritarian management models. Multilevel transformations of administrative culture of large commercial organizations of the South of Russia have been revealed.
